Wordpress, how to set the default embed image size

In a post or page, when you add an image into the article content, there is these options:

It uses size medium as default, if you want to set “full” as default, here is what you can do:

Bring up the funtions.php file

Appearance >> Editor --> Theme Functions (functions.php)

Inside the action function for “after_setup_theme”, which means what to do after the theme is setup, add the following, in my case it is like this:

add_action('after_setup_theme', 'swiss_setup');

function swiss_setup()

{

    update_option('image_default_size', 'full' );

}

Now when you add a new post, and want to embed an image, the original size option will be set to default.
